Entrepreneurs And Business Owners Head To Downing Street


This week sees the first ever Small Business Saturday in the UK, a campaign to get shoppers supporting smaller local companies.

Already a huge success in the US, Small Business Saturday is launching this side of the pond on 7th Decemeber. The campaign coincides with one of the busiest shopping days of the year in the run up to Christmas.

There has been a groundswell of activity leading up to the day with a series of workshops, events and offers being created to support those wanting to participate in the day. There has also been a great level of support from famous entrepreneurs such as James Caan, formerly of Dragons Den.

Adam Ball, General Manager of Concept Cupboard, has been one such supporter the campaign and been named one of the Small Business Saturday 100. A group of entrepreneurs and business owners who see the great benefit of small businesses to the UK.

The champions of this campaign will be heading to Downing Street on Friday, in advance of the launch, to celebrate the the inaugural event and highlight the benefit of small businesses.

Ball said: "It is so important for us to celebrate and support small business in this country. They are the lifeblood of the economy and are essential to our recovery. I'm thrilled to see government getting behind this innitiative and hope this is the start of a growing movement to highlight to the public some of the brilliant entrepreneurs and small businesses in the UK."

This is a campagin for every small company to get involved with and business owners are encourage to participate in the day. You can do this by going to the Small Business Saturday site and download their free pack of resources with everything you need to get started.
